New cases come to the knowledge of the Medical Officer
of Health other than by notification, and so to these figures
must be added 16 pulmonary and 8 non.pulmonary cases,
about which information was obtained from the death returns
from the Registrar General, or as transfers from other areas.

In the following Table is shown the number of cases notified each year since 1924, classified by sites of lesions :—

Cases of Tuberculosis in the District. Constant changes
take place in the register of cases of tuberculosis in the district
owing to the necessity of revising the register from time to

remove from the register the names of persons who have
been wrongly diagnosed. In continuance of the practice of
the previous two years, a careful survey has been made of
all cases on the register, and as a result there have been deletions
under each of the above heads. The following Table, No. 65,
shows the changes which have taken place during the year :—
