Counties. So far as London was concerned, the outbreak was
mainly in Boroughs situated in the West and South-West,
the brunt of the attack falling in Kensington, Fulham and
Wandsworth. With very few exceptions, however, there
were cases in every London Borough.
The number of notified cases in Woolwich during the
year (17) was slightly greater than in recent years, but this
is largely due to the epidemic referred to above. All the
cases were removed to hospital. Two deaths occurred. The
diagnosis was not confirmed in three instances.
