Violence and Suicide. Fifty-five deaths (34 males and
21 females) occurred from violence, apart from suicide, a
number somewhat in excess of previous years.
Seventeen deaths were due to suicidal causes, 11 males
and 6 females.
Cancer. The total number of deaths was 210, of which
101 occurred in males and 109 in females. Deaths certified
as due to cancer or malignant disease each year since 1923
are shewn in Table No. 16, and it will be noted that the
death rate from this disease has never been so high.
