CEREBROSPINAL MENINGITIS.
Four cases were notified during the year, details of which,
and the ultimate diagnosis, are set out in the following
Table. All the cases were admitted to hospital.

PNEUMONIA.
During the year 280 notifications of acute primary
pneumonia and 36 of acute influenzal pneumonia were
received. Ninety-four deaths were certified as due to acute
lobar pneumonia or to acute broncho-pneumonia. Twentytwo
persons died from acute influenzal pneumonia.
The Council have a scheme whereby nursing assistance
is provided for persons suffering from pneumonia and requiring
such assistance. During the year 61 cases were nursed at
home, 956 visits being made by the nurses of the local nursing
associations. The total cost of this service to the Council
was £59 15s. Od.

deaths from, the pneumonias each year since 1923.
