PUBLIC HEALTH (CONDENSED MILK)
REGULATIONS, 1923.
These regulations provide a standard for condensed milk
and the conditions under which it may be described and sold.
Eight samples were taken during the year, and the Analyst
found them to be genuine. In addition to the sampling, a
number of inspections have been made of condensed milk
exposed for sale in shops to ascertain whether the labelling
was being properly carried out, but no contravention of the
regulations was found, probably due in very large measure
to the fact that condensed milk is prepared by large manufacturers
who take steps to comply with the regulations.
