The Care Committee has appointed Sub-Committees, one
of which (General Purposes) meets weekly, and the other
two (Finance and Grancher) when required. The full Committee
meets once every quarter and, having considered the
reports of the various Sub-Committees, reports to the Public
Health Committee of the Borough Council. The General
Purposes Sub-Committee deals with assessments of patients
for institutional treatment under the London County Council's
scheme, and with the assessment of patients who require
dental treatment under the Borough Council's scheme. It

do not exist, Care Committees can only give wholesome
advice and deal with the fringe of the problem of the aftercare
of the tuberculous. No matter how willing and efficient
they are, they cannot do much more. At the present time
the only items of expenditure which rank for grant are postages,
