Rag Flock Act. No samples have been taken during the
year.
Offensive Trades. There are no offensive trades in the
district.
Action taken with regard to Smoke Abatement. It is part
of the work of a Sanitary Inspector to observe any nuisance
arising from smoke and though there were only ten recorded
instances of observations the chimneys can be regarded as
being subject to daily observation by the Inspectors. There
were two complaints of smoke nuisances received and the
attention of the offenders was called to the nuisances.
Arrangements for Disinfection and Disinfestation
and the extent of their use.
Disinfection. The Council's Disinfecting Station is situated
at White Hart Road and two steam disinfectors are provided.
The disinfecting staff numbers three. The following Table
No. 65 shews the various rooms and articles disinfected
during the year.

Applications for special disinfection, not associated with
the notifiable infectious diseases, are considered, and, if the
work of the Department permits it, are carried out at the
expense of the applicant. Sixty of these disinfections were
carried out during the year and the total charges amounted
to £18 12s. 6d.
