Action Taken with Regard to Smoke Abatement. During
the year, 6 complaints were received by the Borough Council
from persons other than the Sanitary Inspectors. The chief
source of smoke in Woolwich is from the Royal Arsenal and
this, of course, is exempt from control by the local authority.
23 observations of smoke nuisances were made by the various
district Inspectors during the year.
