INFECTIOUS DISEASES IN RELATION TO THIS WORK.
Puerperal Fever. During the year 14 cases of Puerperal
Fever were notified compared with 13 in 1920. The case.
rate per 1,000 births was 4.38, as compared with 5.43, 2.55
3 55 in the three preceding years. 9 cases received hospital
treatment. There were 5 deaths giving a mortality rate
of 0 04.
Ophthalmia Neonatorum. During the year 32 cases were
notified. The following Table No. 51, shows the eye conditions
in each case and the permanent results.
