was 310. This compares with 502 last year. It was found
necessary to serve 60 notices compared with 67 in 1919. 321
inspections of home-workers' premises were made and 26
notices were sent and attended to. The Lady Sanitary Inspector
devoted a large amount of her time to the inspection of
workshops, factories, and houses where women are employed.
No cases of infectious disease were notified as having occurred
in the homes of outworkers. A more complete inspection of
outworkers was made during the year by the Lady Sanitary
Inspector and it may be said that the conditions under which
homework is carried out in Woolwich are fairly satisfactory.
The following tables are in the form adopted by the Home
Office for the guidance of Medical Officers of Health so as to
ensure uniformity in the presentation of statistics.
