Visitor and Medical Officer of Health. (See also Health
Visitor's Report.) This consultation is becoming increasingly
popular. The numbers attending averaged 30 last year.
The results are most satisfactory.
6. The following table gives the birth-rate of the Borough
during the years 1901-5, 1906-10, 1911, 1912, and 1913,
and, for the purpose of comparison, the corresponding rates
of the neighbouring Boroughs, London, and England:—

7. The following table gives the birth-rate for the Borough
and each registration 'district for the four past Quinquennia,
and last three years. Correction has been made for births in
the Infirmary, Female Hospital, the Wood Street Home for
Mothers and Babies, and outlying institutions, and the births
distributed to the parishes to which they properly belong.
West Plumstead and Eltham had the lowest birth-rate of
the four registration districts, the rates being the lowest
recorded for these parishes.
