35. There are 19 common lodging-houses in the Borough. 17 for men and 2 for women. Total accommodation for 585 persons is available. The following is the list:-

UNDERGROUND ROOMS.
36. Seven underground rooms, separately occupied, were
found not in accordance with the Public Health (London)
Act. Four were in St. Mary's and Dockyard Wards, two
in Burrage, and 1 in St. Nicholas Wards. The service of
notices led to cessation of occupation.
