previously existing Housing Acts. Among other important
amendments it transfers the power of making closing orders
from the Magistrate to the Borough Council. The new
provisions have been found to work satisfactorily. Owners
have always been given an opportunity of stating their case
to the Public Health Committee before an order has been
made.
The following table shows the action taken:—
