Of the Council's 12 houses in Gossage, Park, and Parkdale
Roads, 10 were occupied throughout the year; Nos. 3
and 7, Gossage Road, were empty for periods of 46 and 21
weeks respectively. No.. 3 had been empty for many months
on account of dampness. No. 5, which suffered in the same
way, was dealt with in 1909, and the steps taken having
been found satisfactory, No. 3 was similarly treated by the
Borough Engineer at a cost of £110. No. 7, a four roomed
house, was rented at 12s. and did not easily find a (tenant ;
on the rent being reduced to 11s., and £40 being spent in
providing a dry area and damp course, and in general
repairs, it was again let to a satisfactory householder.
