The summer quarter had three weeks above the average and
ten below; its average temperature was 0.8 degree below the
average.
In the autumn quarter the temperature was above the
average in twelve weeks and below in two.
The lowest temperature, 12.1 degrees F., occurred in the
last week of the year, and the highest, 88.3 degrees F., occurred
in the week ending the 9th May.
The rainfall, 23.74 in., was below the average; the deficiency
being specially in the autumn quarter. As regards the effect
of the weather on health, the year was an average one. The
largest number of deaths, 44, took place in the week ending
Feb. 22nd; the smallest number of deaths was in the week
ending June 13th.
