The increasing need for another Woman Inspector is
referred to under several items of the Report. Miss
FitzGerald has found no time to deal with cases of phthisis,
measles and whooping-cough, as was intended when she was
appointed. Notwithstanding the increased duties thrust upon
the Department every year by new Acts of Parliament, only
one nett addition has been made to the inspectorial staff since
1902.
I have to thank the Chairman and Members of the
Public Health and Housing Committee for the careful consideration
they have given to the recommendations I have
made in the interests of the Health of the Borough.
I am, Mr. Mayor and Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
SIDNEY DAVIES.
May, 1909.
