Road area, i.e., the following streets:—Eeidhaven Eoad, Gavin
Street, Heverham Road, Abery Street, Gunning Street, Whitehart
Lane, Garibaldi Street, Kentmere Road, Barth Road,
Hartville Road, Mabyn Road, Bateson Street, Marmadon Road,
and Glenside Road.

The above statistics indicate that there has been a continued
improvement in the sanitary condition of this area. The death
rate shows a very decided diminution, and one which is much
greater than the coincident diminution in the death rate of
Plumstead parish. The deaths from 1—5 years, and from
infectious diseases which chiefly occur at this age, also showed
a marked reduction. The same is true to a smaller extent of
diarrhoea and phthisis. The infantile death rate shows only
a very slight diminution.
