Mr. Wood has a separate office at Eltham, but is under the
Chief Inspector, and in daily communication with this office.
The work of organizing the Health Department for the
Borough has been of considerable difficulty, and occupied a
large amount of time on the part of the Chief Clerk, Chief Sanitary
Inspector, and myself, but I am glad to say that it is now
nearly accomplished, and the Sanitary Inspectors are working
satisfactorily in their new districts.
Insufficent office accommodation has seriously interfered
with the duties of the officials, but the improved temporary
accommodation will shortly be completed.
I have to thank you, Mr. Mayor and Gentlemen, for the
proof of your confidence in appointing me Medical Officer of
this important Borough, and your kind response to my recommendations
and requirements in reconstituting the Health
Department.
I have the honour to remain,
Your obedient Servant,
SIDNEY DAVIES.
