It is satisfactory to note the smaller number of cases of
Scarlet Fever and Diphtheria treated at home this year, showing
an appreciation on the part of the inhabitants of the advantages
of hospital accommodation.

Small-pox.
Two cases notified in February were promptly
removed to Hospital. One ended fatally. Careful enquiries
failed to trace any cause.
Scarlet
Fever.
The number of Scarlet Fever notifications for
the year was the lowest for eight years. Fortyone
of the cases were children under 5 years of age.
