Radioactivity
With the increasing use in the industrial, medical and scientific
fields of ionising radiations and materials containing radioactive
substances, attention is being given to this modern hazard.
One of the Public Health Inspectors has attended a course of
background training on radiological health and safety as recommended
by the Ministry of Health in Circular 31/61. There is also liaison
between the Council and a research laboratory in the Borough regarding
the disposal of radioactive wastes.
