NOTE : These premises were formerly the offices of the Board of Works for the Limehouse District
and the letters L.D.B. can be seen above the first floor windows. The foundation stone was laid on the
I Ith July, 1862, and the very ornate decorative stonework, wrought-iron lanterns and foot-scrapers are
fairly typical of the period and a beautiful example of the craftsmanship of one-hundred years ago.
