(Section 4. Prevention of Damage by Pests Act. 1949).
20/44 Watney Street £165. 11. 6
This refers to a large parcel of land, comprising 12 properties
situated in one of the Council's street markets, which had been a
source of nuisance for some time. After some considerable time and
effort had been expended in tracing the owners, they eventually agreed
to pay the Council's contractors to remove the refuse constituting the
rat harbourage and to erect a fence around the site in order to prevent
the accumulation of further rat harbourage. The cost of the work was
met by all the owners except one who lives in New Zealand, and whose
share of the cost was registered as a Lsnd Charge on the property.

Defective Drains repaired or re-laid (Section AO, Public Health (London) Act. 1936).
