FOOD POISONING.
There were no outbreaks of food.poisoning, but eight
separate cases occurred.
In one case a woman was very ill after eating duck egg.
The ducks were traced to a borough outside London, and it
was found that some had recently.sickened'and died. The
organism found in this patient's stools was Bacillus Typhi
Murium. The patient recovered, but tended to remain a
carrier 1
Duck eggs were mentioned in four other separate cases,
in all of which Bacillus Typhi Murium was found in the
patient's stools. It was not possible to confirm that duck
eggs were actually responsible in these cases .
In one1 other case of an aged woman, no particular food
was suspected, but Salmonella Thompson was found in the
patient's stools.
All cases recovered.
