Mortuary.
The Borough Council under Section 234 of the Public
Health (London) Act, 1936, provide a Mortuary at Branch Road
for the reception of dead bodies.
During the year sixteen bodies were deposited therein

Burial of Dead Bodies.
Under Section 50 of the National Insurance Act, 1946, it
is the duty of the Borough Council to arrange for the burial
or cremation of any person who has died or has been found
dead in the area and where no other suitable arrangements
for burial have been made or are being made.
Sixtyfive bodies have been buried under the above powers since the appointed day, 5th July, i.e.:-
