Congestion of traffic at Bishopsgate Station during July and August
necessitated attendance at Durward Street Goods Station on 7 occasions.
This depct was used as a relief station.
During December, large consignments of Yugo-Slavian and Hungarian
Poultry, chiefly Turkeys, arrived. These were found to be in a sound and
wholesome condition, the consignments being fairly rapidly cleared as they
arrived.
3 trucks of Italian Chestnuts, in consequence of being on hand about a
month, were in a heated and mouldy condition and therefore unfit for human
food. These were surrendered by the importers and destroyed.
