The number of bodies deposited in the Mortuary during the year was 306.

52 Jewish bodies were officially "watched." 174 inquests were held in
the Coroner's Court, and 207 post mortem examinations were made.
The shelter is used for the accommodation of contacts of infectious disease
while their homes arc being disinfected. During the year there were 8 persons
admitted to the shelter; 5 adults and 3 children.
9 inspections were made during the year to premises subject to the
provisions of the Kag block Acts. One informal sample of rag flock was
examined and found to be satisfactory.

Acts.
There are 19 cowsheds in the Borough licensed to accommodate a total
of 493 cows. During the year 134 inspections were made to the cowsheds,
but it was only found necessary to serve notices for defects or nuisances
under the Public Health Act.

357 inspections were made during the year to the 53 offensive businesses
(including 42 poultry slaughter houses) carried on in the borough. 22 notices
were served for minor matters and it was found necessary to take legal
proceedings in one instance.

Businesses.
The Slaughter of Animals Act, 1933, came into operation on the 1st January.
10 persons were duly licensed as Slaughtermen at a knackers yard in the
Borough.
