per 1,000 of the population.
Summer Diarrhœa.
The number of deaths was 89 or 36 less than in the previous year.
22 belonged to the Limehouse District.
18 belonged to St. George-in-the-East.
36 belonged to Mile End Old Town.
13 belonged to the Whitechapel District.
The death-rate for the whole Borough was .32 per 1,000.
86 per cent, of the deaths from Diarrhoea were those of infants under one year
of age.
Zymotic Diseases.
The total deaths from diseases of a zymotic character was 267, or 49 more
than in the preceding year.
They include all deaths from Small-pox, Measles, Scarlet Fever, Whooping
Cough, Diphtheria, Enteric Fever, and Diarrhoea.
68 belonged to the Limehouse District.
62 belonged to St. George-in-the-East.
97 belonged to Mile End Old Town.
40 belonged to the Whitechapel District.

578 new cases were notified, or 180 less than in the previous year.
