Public Health (Regulations as to Food) Act, 1907.
On two occasions it was found necessary to seize and ask for a magistrate's
order for the destruction of unsound food on the wharves under this Act,
which consisted of 543 boxes of dried plums. The Act does not empower
Local Authorities to prosecute the owner of unsound goods, so dealt with,
therefore no further proceedings were taken after the plums were destroyed.
