Booth Street Buildings.
Booth Street Buildings have been for many years allowed to deteriorate by
the owner. He has not looked after the property properly, and did not employ
anyone to do the necessary repairs until he received a notice from this
Authority to that effect.
These notices frequently had to be followed by Police Court proceedings
before the owner condescended to undertake to do the work.
I have always considered Booth Street Buildings the most insanitary
property in the Borough of Stepney.
In 1901, after sanitary notices had been served, ten summonses were
applied for, but were adjourned by the Magistrate to enable the owner to carry
out the necessary work.
