The infantile mortality of illegitimate children was 331 per 1,000 births.
It was 428 per 1,000 in the Limehouse and Whitechapel Districts, 342 in the
St. George's District, and 264 in Mile End. That is, one-third of all the
illegitimate children born, died before they were a year old.
Old Age.
244 death were due to Old Age. This corresponds to a death-rate of
.78 per 1,000.
74 belonged to the Limehouse District, or at the rate of 1.26 per
1,000.
33 belonged to St. George's, or at the rate of .63 per 1,000.
104 belonged to Mile End, or at the rate of .88 per 1,000.
33 belonged to the Whitechapel District, or at the rate of .40 per
1,000.
