Sunday Samples.
During the year 1906, Samples of milk were taken for analysis on Sundays
in addition to week-days. The samples were purchased from barrows and
hand-cans in the streets.
88 Samples in all were taken on 24 days, of these 18 were found to be
adulterated and 7 prosecutions resulted.
The amount of adulterations of Sunday milks was 20'4 per cent. as
compared with 22.2 per cent of the week-day samples. This is of interest as
showing that contrary to the popular idea, milk adulterations, at any rate in
Stepney, is no more prevalent on Sundays than week days.

The total costs allowed amounted to £112 17s. 6d.
