Police Court proceedings were taken against the following : —
On June 23rd Mr. J. Solomons, 7 Wentworth Street, was fined £1 and
23s. costs for selling unsound fish in Wentworth Street.
On June 30th Mr. Morris Goldstein was fined £10 and £2 2s. costs, or
one month's imprisonment, for exposing for sale a barrow load of cherries,
which were unsound and unfit for human consumption.
On July 21st Mr. Charles Oettinger, Cable Street, was fined £12 and £3
3s. costs for having in his possession 74 lbs. of Beef, Mutton and Pork, in an
unsound condition, and deposited for the purpose of preparation for sale.
