On March 13th James Hurley, aged 38, was taken ill, and was removed to the
hospital on March 13th. He was discharged on April 15th., He was vaccinated in
infancy only. The patient was in the same ward as Harrison, who was removed to
the hospital on March 1st. He had been an in-patient since February 10th.
Annie Barker, aged 18—homeless—was brought to the Infirmary on March
16th, and was removed to the hospital on the same day. She died on March 21st. She
had never been vaccinated.
Emily Marsh, aged 31, lived at 31, Quaker Street—where other cases of Smallpox
had occurred—till March 3rd. Since that date she had been wandering about
the streets. On March 15th she was taken ill, and a rash appeared on March 18th.
She went to the Infirmary on March 19th, and was removed to the hospital on the
same day. The patient was discharged on April 18th. She was vaccinated in infancy
only.
