PI GEONS,
During the last few years the nuisance from pigeons has increased. This
year permission was granted to a specialist pigeon trapper to trap pigeons
causing a nuisance in the Borough, This work is carried out without any
charge to the Council and the trapper works under the general direction of
the Chief Sanitary Inspector, During the year approximately 90 were
destroyed.
SLUM CLEARANCE.
During the year every local authority was asked to submit a list of
houses which they considered representable for slum clearance, and a considerable
amount of work of inspection was carried out in this respect.
Many meetings were held between the officers of this and other departments
and the Sub-Committees of the Council, and eventually a list of houses
which we considered to be representable was submitted to the London County
Council.
