DEATHS
The total deaths from tuberculosis of all types during the year numbered 86
of which 56 were males and 30 females. In the previous year the total number was
61, of which 35 were males and 26 females. Of the total deaths from tuberculosis,
the pulmonary form of the disease accounted for 73, or 84.9 per cent., and the nonpulmonary
form for 13, or 15.1 per cent. The death rate from pulmonary tuberculosis
was 0.89 and from non-pulmonary 0.16, making a total death rate from all
forms of the disease of 1.05. The corresponding figures for 1936 were, pulmonary
0.58, non-pulmonary 0.13, a total of 0.71. The average death rates for the five years
