SCARLET FEVER
The cases certified numbered 215, of which 47 or 21.9 per cent. were subsequently
not regarded as scarlet fever. The actual number of cases was accordingly 168,
which gives an attack rate of 2.04 per 1,000 inhabitants.
The age, seasonal and ward distribution of the cases are included in Table No. 27
on page 43. There were no fatal cases. The number of cases and the attack rates
in the Borough and wards are given in the subjoined table:—
