NURSING
The District Nursing Association undertakes the nursing of children under five
years and of parturient women referred to them by medical practitioners and by the
Maternity and Child Welfare Department. The number of cases visited was 195
and the number of visits paid 2,126. The particulars of these cases will be found on
page 60 of this report.
During 1937, 116 visits were paid, 76 to registered cases, the remainder being to
the following:—
(1) To children who were returned to their parents from foster mothers living
out of the Borough.
(2) To people wishing to adopt children.
(3) To women who undertake the care of children without registration.
The work for the year is shown in Table No. 86.
