II.—POPULATION, BIRTHS, MARRIAGES AND DEATHS.
The Registrar-General's estimate for the mid-year 1936 population was 85,400.
This figure is used for statistical purposes throughout this Report.
The population in the various Wards of the Borough is estimated as follows:—
