It will be seen that there has been a marked falling off in the number of
children attending the Hospital. This is the most important difference
between the figures for the last two years, and is undoubtedly the result of the
increased fees for school children introduced in November, 1932.
In connection with this matter it is of interest to record that the arrangements
under which dental treatment is given at the London County Council
school dental clinics are as follows:
All children attending school are eligible for treatment.
The charges vary from 1s for slight treatment; 2s. for all forms of more
extensive treatment other than extraction under gas; 3s. if extraction under
gas is included, one payment covers all treatment for six months, in addition
to routine examination of teeth, urgent cases are always seen by a Dental
Surgeon.
Shoreditch school children receive treatment either at Hoxton House
Treatment Centre or at the special London County Council Clinic at the
Queen's Hospital.
