One sample of seed tapioca contained 1.9 per cent. rice. No action was thought
necessary.
One sample of sausage contained 2.1 grains boric acid. No action was taken.

The percentage of samples found adulterated was markedly below the average
for recent years.
With reference to the convictions in 1924, in 2 instances the defendants had
been previously convicted once. The remaining 4 were first convictions under the
Sale of Food and Drugs Acts.
BAKEHOUSES.
The usual inspection of the bakehouses in the Borough was carried out. The
number on the register at the end of the year was 61. Of these 36 are below ground
