by
Alfred Leitch, M.B., Ch.B., Acting Tuberculosis Officer.
To the Medical Officer of Health, Town Hall, Shoreditch.
Sir,
I have much pleasure in Submitting the following report for the year 1924
The total number of attendances during the year was 6,088, and the number of
persons attending the Dispensary was 1,203; of these 509 were suffering from some
form of tuberculosis.
New persons examined for the first time number 657, and 163 were found to be
tuberculous; many of these have been sent to Residential Institutions.
The Local War Pensions Authority continue to send a large number of
pensioners for examination and reports, 532 examinations were made, and the same
number of reports sent to various War Pensions Authorities.
During the year 169 persons were recommended to the London County Council
for residential treatment. The great majority of these were eventually sent either
to hospital or Sanatorium.
The staff of the Department have been of the greatest assistance to me, and have
carried out their duties to my satisfaction.
