The infantile mortalities of the eight wards of the Borough are contained in
Table VI. (Appendix). The mortality was highest in Church Ward, where it
amounted to 152, and lowest in Moorfields, where it was only 91 per 1,000 births.
In Acton Ward the infantile mortality was also low, only amounting to 95 per 1,000
births.
The infantile mortality was during 1912 markedly below the average throughout
the country, being only 95 per 1,000 births for England and Wales, and 90 for London,
