form of violence, including one case of murder, was the
cause of death; in 4 cases, poison; and in 1, drowning.
Two children were poisoned by repeated inhalations of
fine particles of bichromate of lead, resulting from the
bursting of india rubber air-balls, which had been
colored with this deleterious substance. The use of
poisonous coloring-matters for children's toys ought
obviously to be prohibited. It may be useful to suggest
to parents the precaution of buying none but uncolored
articles.
