From this comparison, it will be seen that Small-pox,
Scarlatina, and Fever, have been considerably less fatal
during the last quarter than in the corresponding
quarter of 1856—the fever mortality having diminished
one-half.
A diminution of fever mortality has taken place also
throughout all London. Thus 444 deaths occurred
from this cause against 742 in the corresponding
quarter of 1850. This comparison shews that the
