New Development in the Hospital Services for the Borough
There has been a further extension of psychiatric outpatient
facilities. The table below differs from the corresponding table
for 1966 by the number of adult psychiatry sessions at Stepping
Stones being increased from six to nine sessions.

The Farnborough Day Hospital opened early in 1967, is
satisfactorily meeting the demand for the day care of the mentally
ill, and as envisaged, has become a focal point of contact between
the hospital and L.H.A. services.
ORPINGTON TRAINING CENTRE

The Centre has had yet another successful year, the staff
continuing with devotion their hard work in unsuitable premises.
One Assistant Supervisor resigned and one qualified officer
was appointed. The second new appointment was that of the
Trainee, who was fortunate enough to secure a place on the
N.A.M.H. two year Diploma Course in Bristol, beginning in
September, 1967, with her placement sponsored by the Council.
The third new appointment was that of a part-time pianist and
the "children" are already showing benefit from participating in
