improvement areas during 1967. These areas contained a part of
the former Borough of Bromley No. 1 Compulsory Improvement
Area which the department was unable to deal with during the
statutory two-year period prescribed by the Act. During the year
improvement works were completed at approximately 29 dwellings
as a result of action taken by the Council. Opposition to improvement
is encountered from some elderly tenants who have no desire
to have their houses improved by the provision of modern
amenities.
