These achievements have not resulted in any reduction in the
conservative treatment as the number of cases in the latter category
have been well maintained.
It has still not been possible to cover every school in the
annual inspection owing to the amount of work required to make
the children dentally fit in those schools inspected."
General.
The second dental surgery at the North Clinic is now being
reconstructed and re-equipped and it is anticipated this work will
be completed in the course of a few weeks.
The difficulty of obtaining a part-time Dental Officer for four
sessions a week at the North Clinic is a problem not easily overcome,
and it would appear that the only solution, once the second
Surgery is completed, would be for an additional full-time Officer
to be appointed. The services of this Officer could then be utilised
by Bromley for the required four sessions each week, the remainder
of the time being taken over by the County for the treatment of
out-district children.

satisfactory one, and due tribute must be paid to Mr. King and
Mrs. Lindsay for their untiring efforts.

Many cases of squint have been treated during the year. Both
operative and orthoptic treatment have played their part in these
particular cases.
Attendance has been good on the whole, although unpunctuality
on the part of some of the cases continues.
The total number of new cases examined was 258 and the
total number of cases re-inspected 1.063."
Dr. Lyle expresses his thanks to the staff for their help and
co-operation in all matters dealing with the Eye Clinic.
General.

this Clinic, I am rather perturbed at the delay which has arisen in
the call-up of cases for re-inspection owing to the large number of
children in this category. It may well be that in the near future
