Contained in this Annual Report is the report on the health
of the school child, a service which should not be separated from
the environmental services, or from the services applicable to
the mother and child. It is only by the team work of doctors,
sanitary inspectors and health visitors that full effect can be
given to the services and full benefit received from the money
raised from the rates. In this report on the school child is the
report of the physical training organisers, whose excellent work
to promote health does not receive, in my opinion, sufficient
publicity.
I am indebted once again to the help received throughout
the year from each member of the staff of the Department,
professional and clerical, and finally to the Chairman and
Members of the Committees who have shown tolerance and helpfulness
when my advice has been tendered.
