POPULATION.
The Registrar General's estimate of the total population
(Civilian and Non-Civilian) of the Borough, mid-year 1950, is
64,610 which shows an increase of 470 on the corresponding figure
for 1949. This population figure gives a density of 9.9 persons to
the acre.

The next census is due to be taken in April, 1951, and when
the results are published it will be possible to make a survey of
