The above figures give same indication of the very considerable
efforts made in the endeavour to remedy the unsatisfactory
conditions under which so many families in the Borough are
living, but it will be many years before this distressing problem
is satisfactorily overcome.
In addition to the above, 36 new houses erected by private
enterprise were occupied during the year.
